Electrofusion - Tefco

Electrofusion

The Electrofusion System is easy to use and offers high performance with a rapid, convenient method of joining polyethylene pipes. Precise positioning of the element of wire in each fitting ensures uniform melting for a strong joint and the minimisation of welding and cooling times.

Electrofusion

Our 39.5 Volt electrofusion range from 20mm – 1200mm includes sockets, elbows, tees, reducers, branch fittings and tapping saddles pressure rated to PN16 (SDR11).

The Tefco 39.5 Volt electrofusion welder runs at variable amperage to ensure the fastest possible weld times for the fitting being used.

Benefits to you:
  • Complete system
  • Extensive fitting range
  • Ease of assembly
  • Flexibility
  • High European quality and safety assurance
  • Fastest possible weld times
  • Reduced cooling times
Electrofusion Jointing

Electrofusion socket jointing incorporates an electrical resistance element in the socket of the fitting which, when connected to an appropriate power supply, melts and fuses the materials of the pipe and fitting together.

The effectiveness of this technique depends on attention to preparation of the jointing surfaces. In particular the removal of the oxidised surface of the pipe over the socket depth, ensuring the jointing surfaces are clean and free from contamination.

It is also critical that the assembly and clamping instructions are correctly followed to ensure adequate pressure for correct fusion.

Control & Accurate Records

The Tefco 39.5 Volt Electrofusion range provides excellent control of jointing conditions and accurate record keeping through the automatic electrofusion equipment.

Preparation of the pipes and fittings is fundamental to the integrity of the joint. We recommend trained and accredited personnel conduct electrofusion jointing to ensure the success and longevity of the weld.
